Unpacking the Journey

Launched in May 2023, WhereWeStand paired 14 postsecondary participants, both Indigenous people and newcomers, to explore identity and belonging on Turtle Island through mentored creative works spanning dance, music, film, theatre, and installation.

Over the following two years, that collaboration carried the cohort from creative process to cross-country premieres, touring works to communities in Nova Scotia, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, and British Columbia, and forging connections that became, for many participants, the true highlight of the journey.
